With its foundation, the great kingdom of ancient Egypt marked the beginning of an era of tranquility and prosperity. Its wise rulers created a complex bureaucratic system through which they managed the wealth of their state as efficiently as possible.
In addition, in the eyes of the people, the kings of Ancient Egypt had the status of not only secular but also religious leaders. Each of the rulers was considered a son of the god Ra himself, and their main purpose was to preserve "ma'at" - the harmony of life.
About the gameIn the board game "Ra" you will try on the role of high noble rulers of Ancient Egypt, who devoted their lives and rule to the preservation of "Ma'at". During three eras, develop the culture of Egypt and strengthen the status of your dynasty, following the will of the gods. The time of your reign is very limited, so you will have to choose wisely how you will spend their days on thisAt the end of your journey, you can only hope that you still managed to earn the favor of the gods and eternal rest in the serene cane fields of Ialu.
How to play? The party in Ra's is divided into three parts, called eras. During each era, players will perform certain actions that will allow them to develop the culture and improve the lives of their people, receiving rewards and earning glory for doing so.
An epoch ends on two occasions: when all the players' solar disks are face down, or when the solar rook reaches the end of the Ra track. At the end of each epoch, the players tally their victory points, after which the ruler is replaced by a new one, and many of his lifetime achievements go with him (players mark this by dropping auction tokens).
A player may perform only one of the following actions per turn:
- Take a token
- Call out to Ra
- Spend the tokens of the gods
If you choose to take a token, simply draw a random one from the pouch and place it on the free leftmost division of the auction row. If you cannot place a token, you cannot perform this action either.
If you decide to call out to Ra, say "I call out to Ra!" and then take the statue of Ra and open the auction. Each player has solar disks with different values, which are used to place bids. The auction starts with the player to the left of the person who called out to Ra and continues until it reaches the person who called out. A player can either outbid the previous bid with a solar disk with a higher value,The losers of the auction return their solar disks, and the winner takes all tokens from the auction row and discards his solar disk. He replaces it with the top disk from the auction tablet. In this way the player's bids will always change.
If you choose to spend god tokens, simply drop one of your god tokens from earlier and take a token from the auction row to replace it.
Proceed to the calculation of victory points when one of the following conditions is met: all players' solar disks are face down or the solar rook piece has reached the rightmost division of the track. After that, the next epoch begins.
Who won?At the end of the third epoch, players also calculate their victory points and then add them to the points earned earlier. Whoever has earned the most wins the game and is declared the most successful ruler of Ancient Egypt!
